How Long Do Robot Vacuums Last?
The short answer is 4 to 6 years.
But it depends on various factors like the model of your robot vacuum cleaner, its usage frequency, the environment or surface on which you are using it, battery capacity, maintenance, etc
But you may need to replace its batteries, brush, or filters after around 1 year or whenever needed to do so.
So, let’s talk about the factors affecting the long-lasting of your robot vacuum cleaner.
Factors affecting the long-lasting of Robot Vacuums
Brand and Model of the Robot Vacuums:
Based on my personal usage experience with Robot Vacuums, I always suggest you go with the branded ones and high-end models. The build quality is an important factor to consider. The branded and high-end robot vacuums always make a huge difference when compared with the low-end and local products.
Don’t be bluffed seeing the low price of unbranded and low-end models. As they may result in high costs in the future.
Usage frequency:
If you overuse Robot Vacuums over their prescribed capacity, then ultimately it’s going to affect their all life span. So, overuse can lessen the life span, and battery life and you may see frequent torn brushes and filters.
Cleaning Area and Surface:
If the cleaning area is large then it will affect the life span. And if the garbage or dust particles are large sized or include pet hairs then it can adversely affect the longevity of your Robot Vacuums.
Maintenance:
Maintenance is the most important factor that you need to keep in mind. Improper and poor maintenance may lead to several technical issues in your robot vacuums. You may need to replace some parts whenever it is needed to keep it working properly. You also need to keep its dustbin clean and prevent any blockage in between its filters.
You can follow the instructions mentioned by the manufacturer for the maintenance. And if needed, you can take the help of some experts.

How to improve the life span of your Robot Vacuums?
From my personal experience, I am suggesting some tips that will help you in the maintenance of Robot Vacuums and the proper maintenance will finally result in a long life span of the vacuum. Here are a few tips for you:
Don’t Overfill the Bin:
You need to empty the dustbin after every cleaning or frequently. Due to overfilling of the vacuum bag, the dust may enter the inner part of the vacuum and clog the working parts like its motor.
Battery life:
After running for a long time, the battery starts to degrade gradually which decreases the running time. You need to replace the battery after a span of 1 or 2 years which will ultimately increase the overall life span of the vacuum.
Proper Cleaning of Filters:
Make sure to do a thorough cleaning of filters by removing them. You need to repeat this process after every 5 to 10 rounds of frequent usage. Along with this, you also have to replace or change the filters every 6 months at least so that your vacuum may carry on proper cleaning action in your house.
Cleaning & Replacing the Brush:
The brush may have pet hairs or dust particles clogged in it. So, you need to clean it properly from time to time you also need to change the brush once in 6 months the proper cleaning.
