Rainbow vacuum cleaner review from a life-long user:

I grew up in a home that used a Rainbow vacuum cleaner. It was the first vacuum experience I ever had. Our home was relatively dust free because of its’ use. I watched my mom use it for years before I was “allowed” to use the Rainbow as part of my weekly chores.

When I became an adult, I moved out on my own and was gifted a cheap upright vacuum from a family friend. The first time I used it, I noticed the stale smell. I put a brand new bag on the vacuum and started again. I could still smell something that I couldn’t explain. I took the vacuum completely apart and cleaned it. I could still smell something that wasn’t clean fresh air. Turns out, I didn’t like the dust that came out of the exhaust.

I saved my money and had an in-home demonstration from a Rainbow salesman. It was much more expensive than I had planned for. But it was something I knew I wanted and just had to have. The Rainbow was the very first item I ever bought on credit. I never regretted a single payment.

I have owned and used that Rainbow regularly for 30 years. It still works just like it did 30 years ago. I bought the shampoo attachment and larger basin a few years later. The Rainbow is the only way I could have survived my husbands “white carpet years” with two dogs in the house.

There are some key rules to owning and using a Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner:

First, never store the vacuum on top of its’ water basin. Doing so would allow moisture into the motor and quickly wear it down. I’ve never stored it on the basin!

Second, when you are done cleaning, dump the water and dry the underside of the vacuum where it meets the basin. I always unscrew the large nut and remove the separator, give it a quick ‘wipe and dry’ and put it back on. It takes NO TIME at all and keeps your vacuum running like new.

Third, get the scents from Rainbow. I’ve never used candles and my house always has a light and pleasant smell. Every time I vacuum I add a few drops. They last forever, and because it’s scented air, it sticks around forever. If you don’t want to use the scents, you still get clean smelling, fresh air coming out of the Rainbow exhaust.

Fourth, use it as an air purifier regularly. I will put it in the middle of the house and let it run for 45 minutes, several times per week. It freshens your air, reduces the allergens and germs floating around, and helps to keep your home relatively dust free!

I’ve used my Rainbow to clean my homes, cars, and our camper. The long hose allows me to clean ceiling fan blades without additional mess. Anyone that has ever cleaned a ceiling fan blade knows what I mean… We recently bought a rental property and I took the Rainbow over to clean the carpets. I can’t even begin to describe the mud water I dumped. I had to dump the mud, rinse the mud from the basin, and refill at least 3 times in each room. The carpet appeared clean when I started. But, it was actually clean when I finished. If you could see the difference between a regular bagged, or bagless with a filter vacuum compared to the Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner, I promise you would never use anything else.

Conclusion: The Rainbow Vacuum Cleaner stands as a testament to innovative cleaning technology. Its combination of water filtration, a wide array of attachments, optional carpet and upholstery shampooer, and air purification capabilities make it a top choice for those seeking a thorough, deep cleaning solution. While the price point and complexity may be considerations, the Rainbow Vacuum cleaner is undeniably a premium choice for homeowners who are serious about maintaining a clean and healthy living environment. Its ability to tackle a variety of cleaning tasks with ease and efficiency makes it a valuable investment for a pristine home.
